The Most Active Student Chapter

I've created a new section of the site called Classified Ads the purpose of which is to help support the SMPTE Chapter 11 organization and the Broadcast TV Engineering program. The program at Napa Valley College doesn't get a lot of monetary support from the college for new equipment or repairs to old equipment. A lack of state of the art equipment means the students won't be exposed to current technology. Limited funds to repair old equipment means that only limited repair efforts are possible for the students and can frustrate the learning process.

First, we have a large amount of old equipment, either bought of the years by the program or donated by generous companies. Our storage area on campus is overflowing with equipment. In the following months we hope to list most of the items we have in storage. Those items will be made available for sale or trade. A sale would entail a donation to the program's trust fund via the Napa Valley College Foundation. A trade would be a simple swap of equipment. Other arrangements would be possible. The For Sale or Trade category will house these listings.

Second, we routinely need parts, boards, equipment, manuals, etc. to properly maintain the TV studio. We also could use equipment to enhance and extend the studio. Even if you don't have what we need, help in finding and purchasing such items will be appreciated. The Wanted category will list these items.
