Classified Ads - A followup

In an earlier post I mentioned starting a classified ads section. We have put the idea on the back burner as we have lost most of the donated equipment we had in storage. The campus has been under construction for some time and one contractor accidentally caused a major flood in the building where we, and other departments, store various items.  read more »

New Classified Ads section

I've created a new section of the site called Classified Ads the purpose of which is to help support the SMPTE Chapter 11 organization and the Broadcast TV Engineering program. The program at Napa Valley College doesn't get a lot of monetary support from the college for new equipment or repairs to old equipment. A lack of state of the art equipment means the students won't be exposed to current technology. Limited funds to repair old equipment means that only limited repair efforts are possible for the students and can frustrate the learning process.  read more »

Personal Pictures

We are live now

Although we are still in a bit of a "under construction" phase the new site is nearing its completion.

Many of the old links are now invalid as the old ".htm" files are all gone in favor of a php based system. I've just started adding redirect directives for the old site's main links. I'm sure we are really confusing google, et al with all the links disappearing and now returning with 301 redirect directives. I still have to add a number of primary links from the old site and some links will disappear as they won't have a direct replacement.  read more »

The new site

This is my first blog entry. Right now administrators, advisors, and SMPTE Chapter 11 officers have write permission to create blog entries. Each permitted person will have their own blog and the Blogs link will show all blogs for all people, sorted by date.

We aren't live yet but we hope to be soon. This site will be found at SMPTE Chapter 11 but while it's under construction it is hosted under a different domain name.  read more »
